Maintenance medications (drugs) are medications taken on a regular basis for chronic, long-term conditions. Examples of chronic conditions that may require maintenance medications are: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Our plan uses a national drug database to define a list of drugs that are considered maintenance medications. This list is subject to change at any time due to the dynamic changes occurring within the pharmacy industry, such as additions and removals of drugs from the market.

The Gundersen Health plan allows maintenance medications to be dispensed in a three month supply at a time. Your cost share remains one-copay per 30 days supply (3 x 30 days). However, purchasing maintenance medications purchased in a 3 month supply gives you the convenience of fewer trips to your pharmacy.
